Just about any genre can be covered in acoustics. Metal, punk, and even hip hop have all had some sort of acoustic cover at some point.

For many new guitarists, playing acoustic can be a great way to get your name known. Playing local clubs and bars with a play list of recent chart toppers in acoustic forms can be a real crowd pleaser. Always be sure to mix it up genre-wise so that no one feels excluded by the tunes you are playing. Not everyone will enjoy hearing an hour of rap gone acoustic. Hone your skills and cater to as many people’s tastes as possible to get your name out there.

Making a mix tape or compilation CD of your favorite acoustic covers can also strike a chord in the one you love. Throw together a few acoustic cover songs that have sweet and mellow lyrics and keep it on hand to play during your most romantic moments with him or her to show them that you care. Mix tapes or CDs have always been popular for this use, and they always make that someone special feel like they are truly special, without you having to spend too much.

You can find hundreds of CDs, tapes, and MP3s with which you can simply listen and imitate or create a CD for someone you care about. It doesn’t matter if you are a rap, rock or 80s hair metal fan you are guaranteed to be able to find enough acoustic guitar cover songs to fill your musical library faster than you could imagine possible.

Don’t be shocked when you hear an acoustic cover of a song you didn’t like before and actually like it. Acoustics have the power to even turn the worst into the best.

Everyone has a favorite genre of music, but acoustic guitar covers seem to go past genre and entrance people with their unique and pure sound.
