HI!!! I'm new. I like this forum design, very elegant.

I play guitar since 10 years, mainly electric guitar. My gear:

Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS, Fender Blacktop Stratocaster HH, Epiphone Sheraton II Archtop,

Fender Frontman Guitar Combo 100 Watts, 2x12

Many effects, mainly Boss and Ibanez

I've got a cheap Ibanez guitar, but considering I don't play often, it's ok. still need to learn a lot

Gear: American made Fender strat (all single coils, noisy yes but you can't beat that bridge/mid combo sound). Fender Deville tube combo. I try to keep effects minimal, not that I am opposed to effects but too many guitarists tend to hide behind them as oppose to playing with them. I use a Dunlop Crybaby, MXR '78 Custom Bad Ass distortion pedal (not trying to curse but that's what it says on the pedal housing), and a Dunlop Rotovibe. Occasionally I'll plug in an MXR Phase 90.
note to usetheForce: get a cheap acoustic, learn to play on that. If you can make a low end acoustic sound good with no effects or easy to play electric necks you'll be okay.

I'm not a huge guitarist, I just play with the skills I've got, but a good guitar can help and makes everything more fun. Sooner or later you'll have to upgrade 1 Forum Ah, I love effects!! Rock On!! 111 Forum

Hey it's all good! I started out playing the cheapest thing you could find! My first guitar (which I still have, but dont use) was a B.C. Rich Warlock that came with a 10 watt B.C. amp. It was hysterical how bad both of those are, but you gotta start with something right? Just keep having fun and you will grow in your musicianship!

my first guitar was a $50 classical guitar. Awful. The strings were very high from the fretboard. Ouch, still remember it.

I still regular use my Kramer Focus 3000d – their "budget" model from the mid-80's. Swapped out all PUPs by now: DiMarzio FRED at the bridge, DiMarzio Area 58 mid, and Area 61 at neck.

She been good to meh 4 Forum

with lowered strings I can play decently, but if you give me a "normal" guitar I can't play it. so yes, the "strings" problem is a real problem

Triangle, those are impressive pickups

guitar hero has a strange philosophy behind. you know, you can play with a fake guitar with just few buttons. so you think you are playing a real guitar and you are a big guitarist, but it's not. didn't find true guitarists playing guitar hero, anyway, would be an insult.
