Everyone knows from personal experience that music is soothing. Whether it’s a piece by Mozart to unwind after a long day at work, Abba’s “We Are the Champions” playing in the kitchen while cooking a challenging meal that requires confidence, or anything by Men at Work to boost energy and humor during boring test preparation, music has the power to affect our mood and emotions.

Music not only has an emotional impact but also has physiological effects that contribute to relaxation. Studies have shown that music can reduce cortisol levels, the hormone responsible for stress. While the healing effects of music on the soul have been observed in the past, modern technology allows us to scientifically confirm these effects and demonstrate their physiological nature.

Relaxation is just one of the visible impacts of music. The fact that music reduces stress levels also has a positive effect on the immune system.
