Art is defined as the product of human creativity. It’s a way for people to express themselves unlike any other. Verbal communication is a difficult form of expression for anyone which is why the various forms of art are a much better outlet for so many people today. The various types of arts are numerous and cannot be accounted for in this one short article. It’s astounding to think of how many different forms of art there are which can greatly help people to express their point of view in ways unlike many others.

The most common thoughts that come to mind when people talk about art is drawing in some form or another. There are people who paint and draw which is a great way to let out the creative juices. There are others who take a more physical approach which could include sculpture and carving. These options are used to make statues as well as nautical charts. All different forms of architecture are considered art as well as using electronic media such as computers and digital graphics. While these forms are more the classic types of art that many are aware of, there are still several other forms of art that many do not realize that they fit into the category of artistic.

Horticulture- the art of gardening is a beautiful form of art in which people design gardens in beautiful arrangements. The study of how plants mix together and formatting things to grow in various arrays is something that anyone can get involved with to express their creativity. Indeed, many have before and will again make a marvelous living by using their creative sensibilities to make a beautiful arrangement of some sort or another. Speaking of, florists are artists in their own rights as well. Arranging flowers together in bouquets and arrangements is not something that everyone can do and would most certainly be classified as artistic.

People also hire professional interior decorators to arrange and style their homes. This is yet another style of art and has been done time and time again in order to earn a living. The ability to mix and match things so that they reflect a beautiful theme is one that not everyone has and should definitely be added into the category of the arts. Another form of art is the expression of music in any form. Singing or playing instruments have both helped numerous people to express themselves and share their point of views in ways unlike any other. Indeed, there are many things that people have done and will continue to do which can be classified with the various types of arts.

With conceptual art, arte povera (poor art) and minimalism, artists ceased to be homo faber, artisans with exceptional manual skills, and ceased also to dirty their hands, immerging, scratching and ruining them with the matter and colors. Art is a very common word in this modern world where all the tasks are being done machines. Machines are being used everywhere in your daily life. What is art? This is still a question present there. When someone draw something with hand or make something like statues with his hands than we say that he is making art. Art is a fun, it can be learned by the peoples to work on it. Art is also learned by the persons who fail in other professional fields of life. This field of studies is easy and it has more physical ad practice work as compared to mind work. Since the sixties, the idea of what art is, or should be, has been endlessly debated. After having exhausted the possibilities of traditional forms, modernism ceased to attract newcomers and new attempts to create art took controversial forms. The notion of art became ever more stretched and quite naturally void of comprehensible content.

The art of the late 20th century transgressed definitely. Refusing to have work judged by aesthetic criteria, artists made their art ‘conceptual’ and as such incomprehensible to the consumer. The 21st century, for its part, says that its art is ‘emotional’, an equally singular and sterile idea that will inevitable lead to the same degree of understanding.

Maybe it’s time to stop thinking about evolution in art as a path that necessarily leads forwards. Art has entered a blind alley. To get out maybe we need to get back; maybe we need to turn on our own tracks.

Art cannot be reduced to an instrument for levelling out social hierarchy. Art can neither be a means for expressing individual psychedelic experiences, nor a vehicle to promote abstract and muddled ideas. Let’s avoid the tendency of confounding art with self idolatry and navel-staring. Even if art is not for everyone, it is necessarily shared by some. If there is no communion between the artist and his audience there is no sharing and, necessarily, there is no work of art. Art is intuitively felt and shared. When art is in need of explanation, you can be sure that there is no Art present. Most of the movements that have dominated the realm of gratuitous creativity these last decades we can thus safely and painlessly forget.

What we stamp “art” is as elusive as ‘being’. Not being able to explain doesn’t mean that we can dispense of its reality or its use. As well as we know that we, ourselves, are, and that art is, we know that there is Art. This certainty on art can conveniently be called classicist, as it permeates all ages. It was present two thousand years ago and it is present today, it’s a constant. A contemporary art, regardless of its age, is doing nothing else than positioning itself against the classical undercurrent, always present. The quirks, more or less ephemeral, are the signs of the epoch, of the Zeitgeist.

The remarkable thing about art is that it bears witness. But art is not documentary in character; it doesn’t pretend to be objective, exhaustive or true to reality. The ability to discern and appreciate art is a human constituent and a timeless one. A shared perception of art has prevailed through centuries, through millennia, and is today as present as ever. This classicist view of art should not be confounded with having a preference for the Greek or Roman era. We use ‘classicist’ to mark timeless, that is, what has been intuitively shared since time immemorial. The best works of the modern art movement are as classical as a Michelangelo; they are simply adapting the eternally same to current ideas and circumstances.

Let’s not be duped by psychotherapeutic activity being disguised as art. Let’s not bother with art that is moral or metaphysical. Art doesn’t need to pass on messages; art just needs to be understood, intuitively.

However, it may be unique in terms of how he makes an interpretation of the message. At times, the artists may have come up with a similar piece of work but interpretation is different. The interpretation of ones work also brings up a real art competition.

Such human creativity events show how human creativity is appreciated. Designers from all over the world admit that their creativity comes from a driving force from within. Most of them say that one can never be an artiste unless they possess the passion for it. Once an artiste accomplishes their work, they are usually satisfied in the product of their creativity. An organization with an enterprise culture is usually more competitive and more profitable than a bureaucracy. Such an organization is believed to be more rewarding and stimulating to work in. A society with an enterprise culture facilitates individuality and requires people to take responsibility for their own welfare.

· Enterprise culture is useful for small businesses.

· Enterprise culture is characterized by innovation, creativity, dynamism, and risk.

· It usually requires several of the following attributes: flexibility, initiative, problem solving ability, independence, and imagination.

· Enterprises flourish in the environment of organizations but can be stifled (stopped from being developed) by bureaucracy.

Corporate Culture consists in the combined beliefs, values, procedures, and atmosphere of a large business. This culture is often expressed as “the way we do things around here” and consists of largely values, norms, and behaviors that become the way of doing things. This culture is typically created , based on the values of the top management or the founders of a business.

· Corporate Culture is useful for large businesses.

· Corporate Culture is more natural and unconsciously created.

· In large businesses there is an unavoidable bureaucratic hierarchy.

· The leader has a very pivotal role.

· The size of business in a corporate culture context is larger than in an enterprise culture context.

· In a corporate culture context there is an obvious hierarchy whereas in an enterprise culture context this obviousness does not exist.

· Corporate culture is so much associated with dress code, titles, and organizational structure whereas enterprise culture is concerned mainly with the output regardless of the rest.

People who work in small businesses or in small corporate divisions are more likely to start a business than those who work in a large firm because they gain more familiarity with the whole business process, which makes starting a business seem much more feasible.

TEACHING A” PHILOSOPHY” WAY OF DANCE

Through out the years of teaching I have found that philosophy is the glue that holds our Four Corner Stones of dance together. In class I try to teach my students that they must be aware of how to center themselves for their journey in our dance. I have found that when we forget who we are, the world around us affects our creativity and begins to pull us either in different directions or in a direction we didn’t intend to go. So how do we remind ourselves to stay centered? It’s a question I have thought of many times through out my travels in this dance. The best way to understand how we center ourselves is to take a look at our four corner stones and see what they each represent.

Let’s start with our first corner stone “Emotion”.

Our emotional state can fluctuate like a yo-yo. There have been many students who have walked in my studio and brought their issues and problems to the dance floor. Sometimes this will work in their favor and other times they fall apart in a middle of practice. I have seen women come to a venue carrying the weight of their emotional problems on their shoulders. The weight of the problem shows up immediately in the flow of their dance. If your emotions are tangled up than the flow of your dance becomes stagnant. On the other hand a dancer can take an issue and use the emotional intensity to her favor. If a dancer is centered than she will be able to use the force of her emotions to bring her audience to a heightened state of amazement.

Our second corner stone is the “Physical”.

There are many reasons why dancers are attracted to belly dancing. For some it is a calling that is far reaching into the soul. For others it is a way to stay in shape, have some fun and make new friends. Most women enjoy the freedom that belly dance offers them from everyday life. In our society it is unfortunate that we are told how we should look. And even though we know better, there’s that part of us that listens and believes what the magazines and mass media tells us. I will see beautiful women come to me to study dance and they all have one issue or another. How distorted our lives become depends on how distorted we see ourselves.

The amazing thing is that most of these women are drop dead gorgeous and talented dancers. Yet they don’t understand that how they view

themselves is going to show in their dance eventually. I can tell when the “burn out” stage is coming because most dancers become agitated at the

dance world and can see no beauty in anything they do. This is because they don’t see beauty in themselves. When a dancer is in a beautiful state of grace, she is sheer perfection.

Our 3rd corner stone is the “Spiritual”.

This is the one corner stone that just seems to clarify everything that we do in our dance. If we neglect this particular corner stone, our peace is taken away and our dance becomes empty. The depth of each dancers conviction comes from her belief system. I myself can’t do a good job of dancing if my soul is heavy with burdens. This is the one corner stone that I have found that many dancers go to when all else fails. Spirituality is the part of our dance that holds up even when the other corner stones falter. It is also the main part of our dance that makes us come alive. After all, when the choreography is done, we than breath life into our dance by celebrating life and dancing it on stage.

Our 4th corner stone is the “Mental”.

I don’t know about the rest of you but there have been a few times that I felt that my mind was trying to mess me up in my dance. Sometimes it even argues with my body. The mind is very important in dance but sometimes it can make us too technical. The dancers that most capture their audiences are the ones that flow with their choreography. Our mental corner stone is needed to keep us “sane” through out the learning process. But this one can also zone out. Your right becomes your left and body parts get all mixed up. Or you get on stage and your mind leaves you literally only to come back after you performed. No matter what though our mind is that part of us that remembers those great moves and with experience can help create a dynamic and memorable performance.

So now that we have looked at the Four Corner Stones in dance lets look at what philosophy is and why it’s our glue. If you take all of life experiences, lessons learned and not learned and put them all together you have amazing, individual human beings. All of your travels and

journeys through out your life make you what you are today. Did you know that it is what you represent as a human being that people see on stage? This is the glue that holds together your four corner stones. The best way to remember to stay centered is to look in the mirror and see the miracle looking back at you. We all want to be well thought of by others but first we must think well of ourselves. Be grateful for all that you have in your life and just before you go out on stage or anywhere for that matter remember that you are representing your life up to that moment. Show the world that your life is worth telling and most of all worth remembering.

The Avant-garde painting style of abstract art started early last century. Abstract art is distinct from other art genres because of the fact that it blurs the boundries of many other painting styles.

One illustration of abstract art blurring the lines between other Modern Art movements is when Cubism or Futurism was first conceived. Critics regarded both of these art genres as abstract.

The basis for these modern art movements being termed as, ‘Abstract Art’ was due to their qualities of taking the non visual aspects of an object and portraying that quality within the visual element of the painting. One example is ‘emotions’. Emotions can’t be seen but can be interpreted by the artist and therefore portrayed within the painting, this was seen as abstract.

The meaning of Abstract art these days is more suited to that of Abstract Expressionism whereby an artist will express their creativity through a subconscious process, resulting in a painting that is non-objective and non-representational.

This leads to the definition of Abstract art. Abstract art is purely non-objective and non-representational. I.e. it isn’t based on any visual aspect of an object. An object isn’t even considered at any point during the creation process of a piece of Abstract art.

Artists that are deemed as Abstract art artists are the likes of Wassily Kandinsky (who’s art is also deemed as Expressionism). Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning, Barnett Newman and Franz Kline (Who’s art is deemed as Abstract Expressionism). Piet Mondrian (Who’s art is deemed as De Stijl). Bridget Riley (Who’s art is deemed as Op Art).
