Left-handed guitars and left-handed bass guitars. What’s going on with this?
The guitar has been a popular instrument for many years, and with the rise in popularity of rock n’ roll, it has become even more so. However, in recent years, many popular guitar manufacturers have stopped producing left-handed guitars. This is despite the fact that the number of left-handed people being born is on the rise, and now accounts for 12% of the world’s population.
Furthermore, the way the guitar is played has evolved since its invention. While it was originally considered a “stringed instrument played by strumming”, it is now much more complex, with players using both hands to create intricate chords and melodies. This means that it would make more sense for right-handed people to learn to play left-handed, with their stronger hand on the fingerboard, rather than being forced to play right-handed.
Despite this, marketing and social conditioning have led many people to believe that playing guitar right-handed is the only way to go.
