How To Become A Good E-Book Writer?

It is important for you to have knowledge about e-books and content creation for e-books before you begin your career as an e-book author. E-books are digital and can be read on desktops, laptops, or Kindles, and they can also be easily transferred. E-book and electronic book refer to the same thing. The text within e-books is commonly referred to as e-text. Here are some features of e-books.

There are several reasons behind the popularity of e-books. E-books require less storage space compared to traditional books. If you have an e-book reader, you can carry and read as many e-books as you want (depending on the storage capacity of the e-book reader and the size of the e-books) anywhere and anytime. This is not the case with traditional books, as their weight and size limit the number of paper books you can carry in your travel bag.

If you are concerned about the environment, e-books are a better option. The reason is paper itself. Increased use of e-books can reduce paper production and save trees. E-books can be created on any topic, just like traditional books. Biographies, fiction, reference books, and research materials can all be formatted …

Where Are All the Readers Online and Why Are They Silent?

The Confession

If you’re working on your novel and seeking feedback from real readers, especially those you’re not personally connected to, there are several ways to gauge their response and put your finger on the pulse of your target audience:

  1. Join Online Writing Communities: Participate in online writing communities or forums where readers discuss books in your genre. Engage in conversations, share excerpts of your work, and ask for feedback. Look for communities that cater to your specific genre to ensure you’re connecting with readers who have a genuine interest in your type of story.
  2. Seek Beta Readers: Find beta readers who are willing to read your novel and provide honest feedback. Beta readers can offer valuable insights and opinions on your work, as they represent your target audience. Reach out to writing groups, online platforms, or even friends and acquaintances who enjoy reading in your genre.
  3. Utilize Review Services: Consider using review services that connect authors with readers who provide feedback on their books. These services can offer a broader range of opinions and perspectives. Some platforms allow readers to vote on specific aspects they liked or disliked, giving you a comprehensive understanding of reader preferences.
  4. Engage

E-reader Function on the iPad

As digital books gain more popularity, there is a growing market of competitors for the dominant Kindle. One of these competitors is the Apple iPad. With a reputation for being capable of almost anything a computer can do, the iPad is indeed one of Kindle’s main rivals. But what do customers have to say about using the iPad as an e-reader? You might be surprised to find that the reviews are quite mixed.

Many users are not fond of how the iPad’s screen functions. Glare can occur from any angle, and the resulting eyestrain can be quite uncomfortable. However, while this is a persistent complaint, many of these same users are still impressed with the graphics that the Kindle currently cannot match. In fact, if you eliminate the glare and sit in a dark room, the iPad’s screen outshines the Kindle.

Nevertheless, one feature greatly helps the iPad stand out. It can read multiple types of e-book formats. The iPad can download and run a Kindle application, providing readers with a wide range of access. Other e-readers simply do not offer this option. Moreover, when you combine this with the iPad’s touch screen technology, many users …

Screenwriting for Authors – Common Mistakes You Must Avoid Part 3

This is the third article in a series discussing the mistakes commonly made by beginning screenwriters, even if they have experience as novelists. If you haven’t read the previous two articles, this one can stand alone. Here are some more screenwriting errors to avoid:

TOO MUCH INFO TOO SOON – One common mistake is starting the screenplay with an excessive amount of background information. While this might work in a novel, it is fatal and boring in a screenplay. Provide just enough information to pique our interest and to understand what is happening. Then reveal more information as the story unfolds and as we need to know it. Skilled screenwriters often find ways to tantalize the reader, making them eager to learn more, which keeps them engaged and turning the pages.

LONG SCENES – Scenes in modern movies need to be concise, typically lasting 2 to 4 pages, although key scenes can and often should be longer. The preference for shorter scenes is influenced in part by the impact of music videos with their quick-cut visuals and shorter time frames.

ON-THE-NOSE – This term describes dialogue that is overly obvious and lacks creativity. For example, saying “She …
