Mr. Yap is the genius mind behind Elven Legends Rise of the Nightshade, developed by his company Nexgen Studio.

1) Dear Alvin, we know that Elven Legends has been published in the past, what can you tell us about that release?

Elven Legends won several accolades in the past for being too advance in its time. It was on JAVA phones, now we are bringing it back to life on iPad and tablets etc. using UDK to develop it.

2) So, Elven Legends has been resurrected, what exactly means this?

This means part two of the game product. Basically we are creating a side story line to the world of Elven Legends, focusing on the species created by the Dark Elves during the first Elven civil war – Nightshades.

3) Why this new edition will be an impressive edition for all fantasy games enthusiasts?

It will focus on a new ‘spell’ system and allow users to really affect environments and enemy units to creatively get out of tricky situations.

4) Are you planning right now more quests, battles, items and expansions to be added in the future?

Right now we are in the pre-production stage. Conceptualizing, talking to publishers, drafting the character, the world etc.

5) What can you tell us about the music soundtrack and what do you think about music in videogames?

Music has to be done by Manuel and no one else, He has worked on this project before in those early days, and no other will have the passion he has. Music in videogames is indispensible, a must.

6) What is your future, more fantasy games or more ideas are coming in different backgrounds?

We will focus mainly on arcade, RPG and strategy games.

In this article I want to talk to you about a music producing program that is used by every serious producer around the world and something that I have been working on for the past 4 years.

If you have the money and you are permitted to spend it Pro Tools should always be your choice as the most comprehensive music producing program in the world.

When it comes to Pro Tools you have the super high end HD systems that will set you back many many thousands, and then the lighter systems which can be used in the home studio and are much more cost effective.

Most of us will go for one of these more reasonable systems with a simple Audio interface like the Mbox.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS MUSIC PRODUCING SOFTWARE

* Pro Tool is the industry standard so once you have the track complete you can take it into any top studio and it will load up easily.

* The automation is amazing, by far the best out there.

* The design is slick and simple.

* Its quite easy to learn.

* Ive never had it crash on me.

* You can buy a mixer control for it so that it feels a bit more like an old school recording studio desk.

WHAT IS NOT SO GREAT ABOUT PRO TOOLS

* You will not find support for stereo interleaved files in Pro Tools.

* Does not work that well with foreign software.

* Costs a lot of money compared with something like Garageband.

If youre looking for a music producing program that can grow with your own skill and handle any production idea you can dream up, then there is nothing better than Pro Tools.

There are other systems that have a more user friendly interface for musicians but if your going to spend the time recording you might as well be working on the best software out there.
