Techno duo Justice is merely 2 men, Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay, from France. They play very electrical charged beats and are the most commercially effective groups on Ed Banger Records. Justice is techno by all practices, but 1 can’t aid but see a solid rock and indie influence in both their image and music. Should you follow their prolific job, it’s difficult to tell what or where they’re headed. One thing is for certain – they are electrifying and techno according to a few of the top DJs.

Their initial album †(Cross) received important acclaim when it arrived found on the streets in 2007 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic and Dance Album. The album rose to quantity 15 on Pitchfork’s Top 50 Albums of 2007 and was nominated for the 2007 Shortlist Prize.

In 2009, Justice did win a Grammy Award for the remix of the MGMT track “Electric Feel.” The common track claimed for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. That same year, Justice announced their departure from Ed Banger Records, signing with WMG/Atlantic’s re-launched Elektra Records label.

Around that time, Justice announced that they began to function on another album.

Early this year, the band uploaded an image that fans assumed was the fresh album cover onto their official Facebook wall. Last March, they introduced their initial single called “Civilization” after confirming that they were nevertheless functioning on their next album.

Besides the 1 album and another in the functions, during the band’s profession, they have introduced 6 singles, a DVD concert and documentary movie titled A Cross the Universe and many remixes. Justice’s first solo single, called “Waters of Nazareth,” was introduced in September 2005 and became popular with top DJs like Alkan, Erol, Tiga, Ivan Smagghe and 2 Many DJs. The same track was introduced again in 2006 as remix. More remixes were pumped out by the pair, producing mixes for Mr. Oizo, Mystery Jets, Franz Ferdinand and Soulwax.

Auge and Rosnay have appeared at festivals including Live P.A., Parklife and others around Australia. They prepared it to the Coachella festival as well as the Sónar festival in Barcelona in addition to other festivals all over the world from Fujii Rock Festival in Niigata, Japan to the T in the Park festival in Kinross, Scotland.

Looking over Justice’s journey as a techno band, it appears very diverse and unplanned, or even haphazard. In an interview with BBC, the 2 men from France place it in the proper perspective: “Yeah, it became a great deal of fun to create,” beams Gaspard Auge.

“Well,” adjusts Xavier, “it was possibly 80 percent fun, and possibly 10 percent tears, five percent gigs, 2 percent harassment and, um… I can’t remember where we are in percentage today. Sorry.”
