Hanson Explains SXSW – Japanese Quake – Benefit Concert

free hugs AND music? sweet.

Many of us have read and heard about the devastating destruction caused by the earthquake that struck Japan on March 11, and so has Taylor Hanson. However, unlike the general public, Hanson possesses the financial resources and influence to provide assistance to those in need during this crisis. And that’s exactly what he did by organizing a charity concert in a remarkably short amount of time.

The Hanson band happened to be in Austin for the South by Southwest music festival, and they immediately began brainstorming ideas. Less than 12 hours later, all the major preparations had been made. The band, consisting of siblings, reached out to agents, organizers, and fellow musicians, and everything fell into place seamlessly. In an interview with MTV News at the studio where the concert was set to take place, Taylor Hanson expressed their belief that the music community at South by Southwest should be about more than just individual artists’ promotion. They wanted it to be a platform for providing relief to the millions affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

To their surprise, nothing was being done about it, and the festival seemed to focus primarily on individual artists’ …

80’s Music – What Do We Know About It?

If you ask somebody about 80’s Music, it doesn’t always evoke pleasant memories in terms of musical quality. The general perception is that the 60s was the era when rock music truly blossomed, while the 70s was dominated by disco music. The 60s had iconic bands like the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and the Who, along with many other influential groups that shaped the landscape of modern rock as we know it today.

80’s Music, unfortunately, receives less recognition from the masses, but experts argue that it doesn’t deserve such unfair treatment. Tears for Fears, one of the best bands of the 80s, produced worldwide hits like “Shout” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” In reality, the 80s gave birth to many incredible songs, but it doesn’t receive the level of appreciation it deserves compared to other musical eras.

There was no shortage of contemporary pop bands in the 80s either. Artists like Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode emerged with hits like “West End Girls” and “Route 66,” respectively. Cult groups like The Cure also thrived during that time, and they influenced many famous artists. Psychedelic Furs, whose track “Pretty in Pink” achieved tremendous success, …

According to R&B singer Wyclef Jean, he heard the loud sound of gunshots and realized he had been hit by a bullet. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in Port-au-Prince, just a day before the scheduled Haitian Presidential election.

A spokesperson for Jean confirmed that the singer was treated at a local facility for a minor wound but chose not to investigate the cause of the injury. The spokesperson, Cindy Tanenbaum, informed CNN that Jean is in good health and spirits after the incident.

Jean had previously mentioned that he was injured as soon as he stepped out of his car to get better cell phone reception. Following the treatment for his minor injury, Jean was allowed to leave by the doctors, according to his spokesperson.

The singer declined to comment on reports suggesting that he had been targeted by assassins, as he did not want to sensationalize the incident further. Haitian national authorities representative Garry Desrosiers stated that Jean refused to cooperate with them and did not provide any details, leading them to halt any further investigation into the matter.

Wyclef Jean has been actively involved in the past few months, supporting the presidential campaign …
