The origin of chocolate can be traced back to Central America, specifically the cacao plant. Not only is the fruit delicious, but it also holds great cultural significance in the region. The traditional art of chocolate making has persevered through the ages and continues to thrive in modern times. One notable event that brings together chocolate makers and enthusiasts is the Toledo Cacao Festival, an annual celebration held in Belize, a Central American country, from May 20th to the 22nd.

The Toledo Cacao Grower’s Association aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers in the region and produces these delectable chocolates using natural cacao, beloved by all. To promote enjoyable and family-friendly experiences, they organize this event.

A diverse range of activities is planned for the festival. The opening evening takes place on the seaside, transformed into a chocolate and wine paradise. Visitors have the opportunity to sample the delightful offerings from Belize’s top chocolatiers, complemented by a sip of wine to enhance the sweet flavors.
