If you’re using a Tube Amp, all you need is an EQ pedal with a Level slider you can use for a boost, and that will push your tubes. I’d personally never overload any mids because too-much mids is a fast track to an extremely boxy sound. If you want to use an overdrive pedal for “boost”, that’s ok = I can’t imagine “adding” mids for a solo – if anything, i’d remove lows so the sound cuts more
