We are dealing with two leaders in the hi-fi equipment industry. Therefore, when comparing mid-priced AV receivers from Pioneer and Yamaha, it goes without saying that both companies can offer a good standard and various features. However, we can only afford one, and we can only listen to one at a time. So, which one should we choose?
Pioneer has been recognized worldwide as one of the top names in consumer sound equipment since the 1950s. Two years ago, the company decided to focus The Importance of Having a Goal in Life and Why Music is a Harmonious Objective - Having a goal in life is essential for many reasons. Priced at around $500, the VSX-1019AH-K is arguably the best option in the mid-price range within the company and many would say in general. This receiver features Pioneer’s trademark intuitive and lifelike equalizing technologies, allowing consumers to customize their sound to their liking. The sound quality is truly exceptional considering its price range.
The VSX-1019AH-K also offers an incredibly impressive feature called Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR), which can enhance the quality of MP3s and fill in gaps to play them at nearly CD standard. While it may not fully achieve CD standard for low bitrate music, it does have a noticeable impact on sound quality overall.
Yamaha’s closest equivalent is the RX-V765, also priced around $500. Although it is still a good piece of equipment, the company’s model doesn’t boast the same level of EQ or overall sound quality as their competitor’s remarkable masterpiece.
On the positive side, Yamaha’s model does have a few additional features that Pioneer’s lacks, including practical 3D and surround sound programming and capabilities. The RX-V765 also offers slightly better compatibility, supporting web radio stations and programs like LastFM.
