Who hasn’t heard about the internet? Nobody, unless, of course, you’ve been living in a cave for the past decade! The internet is the pinnacle of the Information Age, which is the era we currently live in. It has completely revolutionized the way we communicate and how we live our lives.

But what exactly is the internet? In simple terms, it’s the interconnection of computers across the globe. It allows users of these computers to communicate in various ways: via email, video conferencing, accessing information through URLs, file sharing, and more.

There are also “chat rooms” online provided by services designed for this purpose. These “rooms” allow multiple users to chat using written messages.
  3. Webpages – Webpages are like virtual homes on the internet. They enable people to post documents online that are easy to browse and navigate. Over time, webpages have gained more functionality. Today, you can download files, submit files and comments, and even do all your shopping online.

Webpages serve various purposes: some promote businesses, some are purely informational, and some generate revenue. The internet gave rise to what we now call e-commerce, which involves shopping online. You can even use online payment methods such as PayPal, Paydot, and others.

  1. Streaming Services and File Sharing – The internet also facilitates file sharing. This allows you to share files with other users, regardless of the file size. Streaming services enable you to access content such as radio feeds or video feeds online.
