Fender Guitar Necks Vary In Several Ways
Fender guitar necks are available in three standard shapes, often referred to as profiles: C, U, and V. These profiles are determined by the shape of the cross-section of the neck. The terms used to describe them include neck profiles, back shapes, or neck shapes. Other factors to consider are width, thickness, and fingerboard radius.
The neck profile or shape does not affect how the instrument is played, nor does it make playing easier. There is no specific profile designed for a particular genre of music. It simply depends on the player’s preference.
Someone with smaller hands, such as a petite individual, a small woman, or a teenager, may prefer a slimmer neck to accommodate their hand size.
