Tips For Beginner Piano

When you’re a beginner piano player, there are always numerous things to keep in mind. In fact, there’s so much to grasp that it’s better to approach it in a less overwhelming manner. The truth is, we should focus on a few details at a time, and the rest will come naturally over time.

First and foremost, always prioritize your posture. Sit with a straight back, feet flat on the floor, elbows at approximately a right angle, and fingers curved and ready to play. The main reason to emphasize posture from the beginning is to develop a habit. Eventually, you want to be able to sit down at the piano and automatically assume the correct posture without consciously thinking about it.

Next, concentrate on practicing scales. Scales may be one of the more mundane exercises to do on the piano, but the reality is that many melodies are built upon scales. Once your fingers become accustomed to playing scales within a piece, it becomes much easier to play that piece.
