by chotda
Do you want to learn how to write a romance novel? Is it your life’s dream to see your name on the cover of a best-selling romance at your local bookstore? Or perhaps you are more interested in the contemporary “chick lit” style of novel.
It’s a great time to start working on your book. People are looking for something to take their minds off their problems, and a captivating romance novel is something that can do just that. Here are some tips for you:
- Your hero and heroine should have something in common besides chemistry. If not, your story won’t be believable. They don’t need to love everything the same, but give them some common interests to build on.
- Your heroine doesn’t have to be the most beautiful person in appearance. She can have a few imperfections that will make her more believable. The same goes for your hero. Don’t make them perfect.
- You need to know a lot about your characters before you start your novel. Create a questionnaire for each character and answer all the questions, then keep it handy. You don’t want to refer to your character as having blue eyes in one chapter
