Choosing an instrument to play is one thing, but committing to that instrument is an entirely different story. It’s not an easy path to take, but it can be a rewarding one if you choose the right instrument. Most people need some kind of inspiration to become a musician.

The bass guitar Learning to Enjoy Bass Guitar - Do you enjoy bass guitar? A bass guitar is a four-stringed instrument that typically accompanies a lead guitar. Some bass guitars have additional strings, with 5 or 6 strings in total. Bass guitars produce lower tones, and an electric bass guitar is connected to an amplifier for enhanced sound. When learning to play the bass… player may not take center stage, but they are responsible for much of the excitement presented to the audience. Without the bass guitarist on stage, the audience would surely miss their presence, and that is the kind of player a bass guitarist is. They are a vital component to any band they are in.

The bass guitarist sets the rhythm and movement of the music. They make everything happen on stage. The lead guitarist lacks depth of sound without a bass guitarist to back them up, no matter how talented they are. In fact, the lead guitarist could play the same notes over and over again while the bass guitarist changes the notes they are playing and the melody quickly becomes something new and exciting.

Don’t choose to become a bass guitarist because you want to take over or dominate the stage. Don’t do it just to play long bass lines all night in some smoky bar or night club. Don’t do it because you want people to remember your name, although that would be nice.

Choose to become a bass guitarist because you have a passion and love for creating beautiful music. Play it because you want to learn how to play it properly and feel like you are floating on air when you play on stage. Play it because when you finally learn how to play that song you were struggling with, you can’t get that silly grin off your face and you feel happy within yourself.

Become a bass guitarist because you take pride in the music that your fingers can create by flowing across the strings of the bass guitar. Play the bass guitar because you know you can put a smile on someone else’s face and make them happy with the music you are creating. Most of all, play the bass guitar because you enjoy the fulfillment it brings to you.
