Videogames Based On Movies Usually Are Terrible

Video games are becoming increasingly ingrained in our culture and are currently as successful, if not more so, than the film industry. As a result, many film franchises are being adapted into video games, but this often leads to subpar results. However, there are exceptions, such as the recent Back to the Future PC game, which has been well-received.

So, why do some film-to-game adaptations fail to capture the essence of the original material? The answer lies in the financial aspect of the video game industry. Many successful video games today require large budgets and teams of individuals to create. When a film is released or in development, manufacturers seek to maximize their profits by creating a video game adaptation. The game programmers assigned to this task are often given strict deadlines to coincide with the film’s release, resulting in rushed and lackluster games that may look good but don’t play well.

If the movie ‘Back to the Future’ had been a prediction of what 2015 would be like, it seems like the writers were slightly off.

It’s disappointing, though, because I really want a hoverboard and a flying car, but I don’t see that happening in the next four years.

Of course, even if they did invent flying cars, they probably wouldn’t legalize them, but that’s not the point.
