Speaker systems often pose challenges for homeowners who take pride in the appearance of their homes, as unsightly wires need to be run across floors, skirting boards, or walls. As an alternative, more and more people are opting for wireless speakers. These allow users to connect a base station to an MP3 player, DVD player, etc., and transmit the audio signal About Sound Amplifiers - Sound amplifiers are used to enhance low-level audio signals, allowing them to power loudspeakers. Their invention can be traced back to the development of the triode vacuum tube in 1909 by Lee DeForest, which ultimately led to the creation of the AM Radio. Amplifiers utilize properties such as frequency, distortion, gain, and noise to achieve… to multiple individual speakers anywhere in the room (or even throughout the house).

Wireless speakers can generally be connected to any output port, making them compatible with various audio or TV equipment. When considering different options, they are typically available in either 900 MHz or 2.4 GHz transmission frequencies. However, there are several key points to consider:

The first consideration should be the power rating of the speaker. The more power that is supplied to the speaker, the higher the volume can go. The power rating informs the user of the speaker’s ability to handle power without getting damaged. This means that a speaker with a higher power rating can be turned up much louder than one with a lower rating.

The next consideration is the frequency response, which is indicated on all types of speakers. Since sound is essentially the vibration of air at different frequencies, lower frequency vibrations produce a bass sound, while higher frequency vibrations produce a high-pitched or treble sound. The wider the range (or frequency response) of the speaker, the more accurately it can reproduce different types of sound. Therefore, a wider frequency response is preferable.

Another important rating to consider is the sensitivity of each speaker. Generally, this refers to the volume level at which the system starts to encounter sound issues, such as clipping.

Look for speakers that have their own individual volume, bass, and treble controls. Since the system is wireless, you can place speakers throughout the room, which is particularly useful for a surround sound setup. However, since different areas of the room may have different acoustics, it’s beneficial for each speaker to have its own controls, allowing you to adjust the sound in different parts of the space for optimal audio quality.

For example, the Audio Unlimited speaker system broadcasts data at 900 MHz and has a range of 150 feet. It does not require a line of sight, so even if the speakers are hidden behind walls, in the garden, or on another floor of the house, the sound quality remains consistently high.

In summary, different wireless speakers offer various features to choose from. However, by considering the points mentioned above, you should be able to select a system that meets your needs.
