When it comes to home entertainment, the possibilities are endless. There are so many amazing options vying for your attention and your money. From home video game consoles to movies and music, there are various formats available to obtain them. The era of downloading has finally arrived, and for those who were hesitant to embrace this format, it may be too late to resist it.

These days, everything is downloaded. You no longer need to go to a store or have a physical copy of anything, with a few exceptions. Some items, such as games for Playstation 3, are too large to download. However, movies, TV shows, music, and many games are readily available for download at any time. Some people don’t even have physical copies of their music anymore; everything is stored on their computer in digital format.

Apart from the convenience, you can download anything instantly without having to wait for it to arrive in the mail or go out to collect it. Digital copies are easy to store and transport. You don’t need shelf space for discs, and there’s no need to worry about scratching them when taking them in the car. Digital downloads are often priced similarly to physical copies as well.

Most devices are designed to make downloading easy, and it truly is. Transferring music and photos between devices has also become much simpler. In fact, it has become so popular that when you purchase many Blu-ray movies, they provide you with a digital copy along with the physical disc for convenience. Once you have the digital copy, you can take it with you anywhere. It can be stored on computers, MP3 players, or even mobile phones. It makes entertainment portable.

There are still people who prefer to have physical copies of everything, and even if they transition to a digital format, they still want the hard copy for their collection or a shelf. I used to feel that way for a long time, but with the hassle of storage and space, digital versions are sufficient for me. Additionally, not all discs or movies need to be rearranged and shuffled to maintain alphabetical order when a new purchase is made.
