MMORPG stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, and it is a genre of computer game where there are hundreds, commonly thousands, or even millions of players from all around the world.
In this type of game, players enter a virtual fantasy world and assume the roles of their own created characters, who are tasked with missions and objectives. A website serves as the host of the game world or realm, and players enter this virtual world to act out the roles they have chosen and pursue the quests or tasks they have set for themselves. This creates an interactive experience, even when players are not actively playing the game. Essentially, life in this virtual world continues much like life goes on in the real world.
For example, in an episode of World of Warcraft, a viral outbreak was caused by a spell that made players sick and infected others.
