The music industry Marketing and Music: Any Song Can Become Famous? - Today let's dive into a topic that's been buzzing around a lot: the relationship between marketing and music. We all know that marketing plays a massive role in the music industry, but does it actually hold the power to make any track a hit? Or does talent still stand a chance? First off, let's address… has undergone a complete transformation from the way it used to operate, primarily due to the proliferation of the internet The World-wide-web Niche - The global economy has been severely impacted. Millions of people have lost their jobs, many are losing their homes, and retirement portfolios are disappearing at an alarming rate. What happens in the World Wide Web? We often discuss the global financial tsunami, an economic crisis on a scale that rivals the Great Depression of the… . It is now easier than ever for musicians to share their music with the public and gain exposure.
In the past, there were only a few methods for musicians to get signed to a major music label and become popular stars. The most common methods involved payola, which quickly became illegal, or having the record label promote one or two specific artists and their songs. It was difficult for other musicians to gain recognition without the backing of a large label and significant financial support.
However, the internet has changed this landscape. For instance, many musicians now film their own videos and record themselves performing in small concerts. They upload these videos to the internet and share them on various video-sharing platforms. This creates opportunities for music scouts to discover new bands and sign them. Additionally, musicians and bands can develop their own cult following without needing to sign with a music label. They can continue building their brand through cross-promotion on social media sites and other forms of communication to spread the word about their music.
This method of creating and distributing art is becoming increasingly popular. Even film and television producers are now searching the internet to find groups to perform their theme songs or to include their music in the soundtracks of their shows or movies.
The great advantage of using the internet in this manner is that it costs bands almost nothing out of pocket. Of course, they can choose to invest more if they want, but it is an excellent way to gain exposure without breaking the bank.
Now, thanks to satellite internet service, even musicians living in remote areas have the opportunity to share their music online. Satellite internet provides those who might have had slow or no service at all with the same speed as DSL or cable internet service. As a result, bands and musicians can easily upload their music to video-sharing sites regardless of their location.

I think it’s a blessing as well as a curse… Anybody nowadays can learn an instrument and get themselves heard via the internet – which is great. But it also almost brings musicians closer and shatters the image that they’re idolised, if that makes sense? I wrote a piece called ‘musicians used to be gods… what happened’ which looked at this, and I came to the conclusion that the accessibility of the internet is both a positive and negative thing.
